I am a graphic designer, creative and brand specialist, hired by clients of all sizes, from multinationals to smaller independent businesses. With over 25 years in the industry, I offer design, art direction and brand experience to clients who value creativity.

I create engaging brand identities and ideas-led conceptual campaigns as well as responsive websites, motion graphics and digital assets.

I approach every project with passion and dedication, applying skill and craftsmanship to every stage of the strategic and creative design process.

Services

Brand Identity

Logos, brand marques and identity systems crafted for the digital age. Built on strategy; deployed with creativity.

Brand & Product Naming

Naming your kid is hard, naming a company is harder. With a tried and tested methodology for creating brand and product names, I take a little bit of that creative pain away.

Brand Guidelines Creation

From a compact identity guide to a comprehensive brand book, a considered set of guidelines will save a company time and money in the long term.

Packaging Design

Shelf appeal, badging, hierarchy and range architecture all wrapped up and delivered with bags of experience.

UX/UI Design

Attractive website design combined with solid user-experience principles. Add a pinch of motion design for extra zing.

Advertising Creative

A good strategy with poor creative is like a Ferrari without any tyres – It doesn’t get traction. With a thousand other brands competing for the same eyeballs, a campaign without a big idea is a non-starter.

Brand Identity Process

As every project is different, some flexibility is required depending on the size, scale and complexity. That said, most brand identity projects include the following five phases:

Discovery

The process begins with a deep-dive into your business history, audiences, positioning and your business goals. Understanding where you want to be in the future helps create a solid, strategic foundation for the creative work.

Brand Story & Strategy

I distil the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of your business, into a set of concise brand principles: a brand story, personality and positioning, that resonates with shareholders, staff and customers alike.

Stylescapes

If pertinent, I then compile stylescapes, a broad-brush look at creative directions including colour palette suggestions, typography, art direction and graphic styles that form an overarching direction. Stylescapes form an intermediary visual step giving you confidence about the creative direction at an early stage.

Creative

Creative isn’t always a linear path, so time is built in for genuine experimentation and discovery. A number of weeks are usually spent preparing a document for client review. Because brand principles and a stylescape have been chosen, only one or two concepts are usually required.

The proposed concepts are explored across a variety of digital and real-world mock-ups, ensuring the logo, identity and colour palette works across every touchpoint.

Brand Implementation

The new identity is now ready to be rolled out across every channel – print, digital, social or signage. An easy to use set of guidelines ensures consistency and clarity for the new brand launch.

Experience

I began my creative journey, graduating way back in 1996, before advancing through a handful of studios in England, Dublin and Belfast. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with a broad range of local, national and international clients. Here’s a few of them:
